Former minister Dr. Zahi Hawass denies recent allegations that have been filed with Egypt's attorney general that he covered up thefts from archaeological sites, as well as signing an agreement that threatened the national security of Egypt.
Abdel Rahman al-Aidy, chairman of the Central Administration of Middle Egypt Antiquities, and Nour Eddin Abd al-Samad, director general of the Department of Archaeological sites, have filed the documents with prosecutors.
Dr. Hawass denies these allegations.
