Islamic Museum Counts its Losses

Last week's explosion, which killed 6 people and damaged the National Library and the Islamic Museum, caused damage to 165 objects in the museum, including the complete destruction of 74 objects made of ceramic, glass, and wood. There is already a plan for the museum's restoration, including an assessment by UNESCO to aid in restoration.

I cannot help but think of all those old, beautiful enameled glass lamps that hang in the old mosques, what a shame!
