Restoration of Hathor Temple at Philea

Restoration work on the small temple to Hathor on the Island of Philae is done in time for its official inauguration. The temple is the creation of Ptolemy VI and VII, with extensions in the Roman period.

The restoration has included cleaning and replacement of damaged blocks as well as replacing loose blocks back to their places on the temple, and like so many historic monuments, undoing the damage from previous restorations.
