This 1907 publication by Flinders Petrie is one of my favorites and is highlighted with the discovery of an intact middle kingdom tomb of two brothers named Nekht Ankh and Khnum Nekht at a site called Rifeh.
Their entire funerary ensemble including the mummies (skeletons) of the brothers is in the Manchester Museum.
The publication is a short read with good black and white excavation photos.
